Underbelly - version 1.0

A rich media fiction created in Flash about a woman sculptor, carving a figure on the site of a former Yorkshire colliery. As she carves, she is disturbed by a medley of unwelcome voices - her own conflicting doubts and desires, and the voices of women miners who once worked underground.

Underbelly is a project in development. I conceived it as an ambitious non-linear interactive fiction. What I'm offering here is an intermediate linear version, created specifically for my MA dissertation in Creative Writing & New Media at De Montfort University. For that reason, I'm also offering the accompanying Critical Commentary, including Literature Survey, for those interested.
